Hello. As far as I can remember, I have had VS all my life. Although it is constant (eyes open or shut), it is not as intense as many. Other the years I’ve tried to describe it to people. The illustration at this website is very helpful in that regard. Seeking a “diagnosis” before reading about Visual Snow Syndrome, I was almost convinced for several years that I was seeing the blood cells flowing in vessels in my eyes. But the quantity of dots I see (100,00+ at any time) seemed too high for that explanation. Because apparently doctors have generally ruled out VS being an eye problem, I now favor the theory it is optical cells in the brain firing randomly at all times and, in our cases, being perceived. I look forward to any communications from VS sufferers in the UK, US or around the world.
